Scotch&Soda is reopening its historical shop in Antwerp, a property managed by Esset.
We are delighted to announce that one of the nine shops in Belgium of Dutch-born clothing brand Scotch & Soda, acquired by GAB (Groupe Alain Broekaert), in July 2023, has reopened this summer in its historic location: Lombardenvest 34 in Antwerp.
As Property Manager, we are using our expertise to ensure optimal management of this iconic location, guaranteeing a high-quality customer experience and smooth operations.
Historical background
The Scotch & Soda clothing brand went bankrupt again last June, just over a year after its first bankruptcy and its takeover by the American group Bluestar Alliance. In parallel to the 21 Belgian shops, the bankruptcy also affected branches in the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and Austria. Just when it looked as though there was no chance of a revival, the Ternat-based Alain Broekaert Group (ABG) announced an agreement with Bluestar Alliance to take over nine shops in Flanders, considered by Alain Broekaert to be the best in Belgium.
