Press release: Leadership change at Quares – new names, same vision
After more than a decade, CEO Siham Rahmuni is stepping down from her role at Quares to take on a new challenge in the real estate sector. Ine Beeterens joins the Executive Committee of Quares Group, while Romeo Mercken is appointed CEO of Quares Investment Services.
Friday, 25 October 2024 – Antwerp – Quares Group announces the departure of CEO Siham Rahmuni, who has decided to pursue a new professional challenge outside the company. She remains involved with Quares and joins the shareholder base of Quares Investment Services, the investment arm of Quares, which appoints Romeo Mercken as its new CEO.
Thirteen years ago, Quares founders Herman Du Bois and Freddy Hoorens welcomed Siham Rahmuni (39) as Chief Financial Officer. She subsequently served as HR Director and progressed to the role of CEO, a position she held with dedication over the past five years.
“It is time for me to take the next step in my career. I am very proud of the growth Quares has achieved and of the expertise we have developed. I am also grateful to Herman and Freddy for the opportunities they gave me and for believing in me. Thanks to our strong corporate culture and our client-focused vision, we have become a reference in the real estate sector,” said Siham Rahmuni.
Ine Beeterens strengthens the Executive Committee of Quares Group
The Executive Committee of Quares welcomes a new member, Ine Beeterens (39). She has been active in the real estate sector for more than fifteen years and has specialized in commercial real estate and building management. Ine Beeterens further developed her expertise in property management at Devimo Consult and spent eight years as a member of the executive management team, serving as COO at the real estate company Wereldhave Belgium. She later took on the role of interim COO at the family-owned company Tans.
An engineer by training, Ine Beeterens also holds a Master’s degree in General Management (Vlerick Management School) and a postgraduate degree in Real Estate (KU Leuven).
“I am delighted to join the Executive Committee of Quares and to continue writing our company’s success story together with Joris Van Elsen and our teams. Quares holds a strong position in the Belgian and Dutch real estate markets. Our momentum enables us to continue growing and further professionalising our organisation. During this transition, I can rely on Siham’s experience,” says Ine Beeterens.
Further changes within the real estate investment branch: Romeo Mercken appointed CEO
Changes are also taking place within the management of Quares Group and its real estate investment branch. Romeo Mercken (32) becomes a shareholder and is appointed CEO. He has been working at Quares for four years and has played a key role in several Quares projects, including the creation of Quares Residential Investment and the successful exit of Quares Student Housing. Previously, he held various positions at Deloitte M&A.
In his new role, Romeo Mercken will focus on the development of real estate investment portfolios. “I have had the opportunity to grow within Quares as a manager under the guidance of Siham, Freddy and Herman. This appointment is the icing on the cake. We will continue to develop our existing investment portfolios and are already working on a new investment portfolio for next year,” explains Romeo Mercken.
Demand for high-quality, affordable and energy-efficient housing has never been greater. “In response to this demand and given the complexity of the rental market, Quares Residential Investment aims to help address this challenge,” add founders Herman Du Bois and Freddy Hoorens.
Siham Rahmuni remains involved as a board member and also joins the shareholder base of Quares Investment Services. “In recent years, Siham has had a major impact as CEO. We are delighted that she will remain involved and continue to share her extensive expertise with us,” say Herman Du Bois and Freddy Hoorens.
